The "This is England" festival of British short films based in Rouen and the surrounding region is back. The 2025 edition will take place from 15 to 23 November. A team of teachers has put together a special programme of screenings and teaching materials for primary, collège and lycée classes. And this year, it will be possible for teachers anywhere in France to ask a local cinema to organise a showing of one of the schools selections during this school year.
The festival has created a separate website for schools, called School Tie. The selections of films the schools screenings for this year are now on there for cycle 3, cycle 4 and lycée. The screenings will take place in 50 different cinemas around the five départements of the Normandy region. You can check out the list. Teaching materials will available to download for each of the three levels from 20 October.
But this year, teachers anywhere in France will be able to request a screening at a local cinema from 17 November 2025 to 26 June 2026. The cost per pupil is 5 euros. Teachers or schools can group together to get a group big enough for a screening. Once a date is agreed with the cinema, they can download the programme from the CINEGO platform.
We'll have more information about the cycle 3, cycle 4 and lycée selections for you very soon.
