A History of Women in U.S. TV Series

Posted by Speakeasy News > Monday 22 March 2021 > What's On

How have women been portrayed in U.S. TV series in the past, and how has that been changing since #MeToo? That's the topic of an online talk from the Institut Franco-Américain in Rennes on 23 March.

Anaïs Le Fèvre-Berthelot from Rennes 2 University will take a look back at some significant female characters in the past that have provided the stepping stones for stronger, more diverse portrayals today.

The IFA Rennes regularly has really interesting talks. Why not take advantage of lockdown and enjoy them from wherever you are?

This talk should provide some interesting material to add to a sequence on Shine Bright 2e Files 12 Fans of American Series.
