The 2015 winner of the Man Booker prize for fiction, Marlon James, is a star guest at the 2016 America festival in Vincennes from 8 to 11 September. These resources about his prizewinning book about Bob Marley, A Brief History of Seven Killings, would be a good topic for lycée classes.

Both the theme of the novel — Bob Marley — and the style (think Quentin Tarantino) are likely to appeal to pupils.

The Man Booker podcast has an interview with Marlon James (starting at 19:30), followed by a reading of the beginning of the novel (32:40). It's clear and easy to understand.

For pupils in LELE, the Guardian article where James describes the genesis of his mammoth novel would fit well into the theme "Le personnage, ses figures et ses avatars".
