Biopics are quite popular and so are Lego films. What about a Lego biopic then? Pharrell Williams only agreed to a biopic being made about his life if it was a Lego animation. Piece by Piece is the perfect creative way to tell this creative and original artist’s life. Many music stars such as Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Gwen Stefani and Kendrick Lamar appear in the film, transformed into Lego figures too.

These activities based on a short A2 article paired with the trailer will help your students learn more about the artist’s life and career while working on words and enriching their vocabulary – thanks to derivation and lexical fields.

It could be used as a means to revise the past tense or as follow-up work to a lesson related to either music or biography. And why not work on the “Happy” song with the music teacher after this?
