Shine Bright 2e is back in an all-new edition, Shine Brighter, to accompany you putting in place the new curriculum for seconde from September. It’s packed full of themes designed with students’ interests in mind. Watch the introductory video to find out more:
In the new curriculum, there are 6 cultural axes in 2e, with several “objets d’étude” suggested for each. The first five axes are common to all the modern languages taught in seconde. The sixth is specific to English. Shine Brighter 2e covers all the axes, with four varying-length chapters for each one.

Shine Brighter 2e includes:
- A short transition chapter to ease pupils into learning at lycée level: Celebrating English worldwide.
- 24 chapters, from 2 to 16 pages long, to provide plenty of choice and variety in what you tackle.
- A strong accent on vocabulary and grammar, including grammar tuto videos and interactive activities to help pupils memorise vocabulary and test their knowledge.
- Practise & Shine : guided evaluations to allow pupils to learn step by step how to tackle different types of documents.
- Activities to allow differentiated learning with an eWorkbook and teamwork projects.
- Appealing themes to spark pupils' interest, exploring the cultures of the English-speaking world: From Hollywood to India, Australia to Nigeria, pupils will discover the Wild West, multigenerational families, electric Route 66, an African megacity, sneaker culture, the young British royals, the heirs of the civil-rights movement, the S.L.OW. movement, Commonwealth sport and much more.
